A Long Walk for Lunch

I decided last Tuesday to take a long training walk to lunch. I started out from the Pasadena Aquatic Center at the Rose Bowl and from there walked along the Tad Williams Trail on the lower arroyo. It took me past the stables in South Pasadena to Nicole’s, my lunchtime destination also in South Pasadena. Not a bad way to enjoy a guilt free lunch!

McNemeny Trail Hike (Montecito, CA)

Route: McNemeny Trail (Montecito, CA)

This is a hike my family and I took while visiting Santa Barbara last weekend. It was a switchback climb up for most of at least one mile. The distance was actually a little closer to 3 miles and at many points you are rewarded with a view of the Pacific and Santa Barbara below.

Early Retirement

Today is my first workday after my early retirement from the California Teachers Association and the field of education!! While I will miss my colleagues at CTA, who are the most caring, kind and dedicated group I have ever had the honor of working with, I now begin a process of training and preparing for my Pilgrimage to the Camino Frances.
